Victorious Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade, has revealed that the team is yet to receive the promised $100,000 reward and other entitlements, including housing, following their victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Rasheedat confirmed this during an interview that has now gone viral, stating that the team is still awaiting payment of their bonuses and allowances.
While some reports suggest the bonuses have been paid, with only one or two players facing banking issues, Ajibade’s statements indicate otherwise.
She expressed hope that the money would be disbured soon, noting that her decision to come public borne out of pressure from her teammates, as the development could affect morale, urging authorities to resolve the outstanding payments.
