UNILAG present new faculties in architecture, media, robotics, others

The University of Lagos publicized the major academic reconstruction , with the separating of six functioning faculties and the making of eight new ones.
The information was revealed in the official website of the university’s on the 1st of August 2025.
According to the update, the new faculties which are Architecture, Basic Clinical Sciences, Communication and Media Studies, Computing and Informatics, Creative Arts, Health Professions, Life Sciences and Physical and Earth Sciences were separated from the functioning faculties of Arts, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Sciences and Management Sciences.
This restructuring increases UNILAG faculties from 12 to 19, beside the presentation of the new departments and programmes such as Interior Architecture and Design, Landscape Architecture, Public Relations and Advertising, Journalism, Broadcasting and Media Studies, Music and Sound Production, Intelligent Systems and Robotics, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, e.t.c.

“In our ongoing drive to enlarge the knowledge, encourage innovation, and prepare students for the developing future, The university of Lagos has separated some previously loved faculties to construct new faculties and programmes targeted at meeting the needs of a vibrant world. The new faculties are Architecture, Basic Clinical Sciences, Communication & Media Studies, Computing & Informatics, Creatives Arts, Health Professions, Life Sciences, and Physical & Earth Sciences.
He also added that the enlargement of our academic family from twelve (12) to nineteen (19) faculties, we hope to lighten a renewed drive for discovery and innovation in our students and faculty alike, These renovation demonstrates our renewed commitment to widening outlooks, deepening competency, and shaping our leaders who will rethink the future.
The fact is UNILAG will take the world with knowledge benevolence.
